About the position

As a Forklift Driver at Pratt Industries, you will be responsible for ensuring safety at all times, adhering to Pratt Industries Safety rules, and participating in the Plant Safety Committee. You will follow Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) and comply with quality procedures to prevent poor quality products from reaching customers. The role involves performing various tasks across different areas of the plant, maintaining cleanliness, and moving products to staging areas. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and performing basic forklift maintenance. The position requires adherence to production schedules and may involve working overtime, including holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times and comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs).
  • Learn and comply with Pratt Industries quality procedures and policies.
  • Perform a variety of tasks in the assigned department.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure they are free of hazards.
  • Move various sized units and products to staging areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory locations.
  • Perform basic forklift equipment maintenance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to production schedules and work overtime as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must be Pratt forklift certified.
  • Previous Pratt and/or two years forklift operation preferred.
  • Experience with scanner or barcode warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience driving and operating a forklift.
  • Pass substance abuse screening according to company policy.
  • High degree of attention to prevent damage to materials and equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the packaging, plastics, paper, converting, warehouse, manufacturing industry.
