About the position
The Curriculum and Instruction department will be conducting Summer Curriculum Writing in multiple areas this summer. The application below is for interested MTPS staff. Curriculum writing opportunities are pending Board Approval and may change or be eliminated at any time prior to summer.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and modify the 6th grade ELA curriculum written for 24-25 school year.
- Revise the 7th grade ELA curriculum to support changes made to the 6th grade ELA curriculum.
- Revise BSI Literacy and Math Handbook, required paperwork and processes for Reading Specialists / Interventionists (K-8).
- Align Bridges Intervention Program to enVisions Math pacing, revising identification process for Math Interventionists (K-5).
- Update curriculum to include 2023 NJSLS revisions for Algebra (8th Grade).
- Create vertical scope and sequence and common resources in pacing for Math (K-5 Resource Room/POR).
- Create Thin Slicing lesson for Building Thinking Classrooms in Math (6th Grade).
- Revise Launch unit for Grade 1 Topic 1 in Math (1st Grade).
- Update pacing to align with NJSLS and Carolina Science, create digital benchmark assessments for Science (6-8).
- Provide instruction on grief as part of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Comprehensive Health and Physical Education for Health & PE (8th Grade).
- Revise curriculum for Gifted & Talented (K-5).
- Work with K-5 STEM teacher going to Haines on Robotics and Title money for supplies for STEM (6th Grade).
