About the position

As a Software Engineer for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will enhance Deere technology products to meet stakeholder specifications in availability, quality, and user experience, with a focus on web applications. You will drive product innovations using cloud and leading technologies, conduct root cause analysis, debug, and prevent recurrence of complex application issues. Specialized responsibilities include supporting product design, coding, testing, collaborating with stakeholders, and adhering to agile software design methodologies for development and documentation. Up to 15% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. 10% international and domestic travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance Deere technology products to meet stakeholder specifications in availability, quality, and user experience.
  • Drive product innovations using cloud and leading technologies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, debug, and prevent recurrence of complex application issues.
  • Support product design, coding, testing, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Adhere to agile software design methodologies for development and documentation.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in design, development, testing and integration of high complex software solutions using Java, JavaScript, NodeJS and RESTful APIs.
  • 3 years of experience in application security, secure coding practices, data privacy, security architecture, and integrating Okta components.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience with DevOps tools, specifically GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker, and Splunk.
  • 2 years of experience with highly customized Container as a Service using Kubernetes.
  • 2 years of experience in design and implement applications leveraging AWS services.
  • 1 year of experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment with Test Driven Development (TDD).
