About the position

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Core HRIS Product team at Rippling, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing critical end-to-end products that facilitate the ingestion, management, and visualization of employee data. This includes working on essential features such as Hiring & Onboarding flows and Employment History, which serve a diverse customer base ranging from small businesses to large enterprises. The HRIS group is at the forefront of Rippling's expansion, building products and frameworks that support every customer and product team within the organization. In the coming year, the Product team's focus will be on building the next generation of products, including Change Management and Unbundled Rippling Products, while also scaling existing products like Hiring, Transitions, and Offboarding flows. Your contributions will be crucial in enabling Rippling to explore new business opportunities and win enterprise clients. You will collaborate closely with HRIS Product and Design teams to ensure that new features are shipped with the utmost quality and care, meeting the needs of both internal and external customers. In addition to product excellence, you will also be responsible for technical excellence, owning the design and development of projects related to Unbundling, Employee History, and Enterprise initiatives. This role will require you to work alongside some of the strongest Tech Leads and engineers, providing mentorship to junior team members and coordinating key initiatives across the department. Cross-functional collaboration will be essential as you work with other teams to support and scale products both within and outside of HRIS. You will also be tasked with operational excellence, ensuring a high standard for the quality of deliverables and building operational tools, monitors, and processes across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage critical end-to-end products like Hiring & Onboarding flows and Employment History.
  • Collaborate with HRIS Product and Design teams to ship new features with high quality.
  • Own the design and development of projects related to Unbundling, Employee History, and Enterprise.
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate key initiatives across the department.
  • Collaborate with other teams to support and scale products within and outside of HRIS.
  • Build and operationalize tools, monitors, and processes to ensure operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience building customer-facing products.
  • Experience with systems operating at significant technical and organizational scale.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in building projects with good abstractions and architecture.
  • Comfortable developing scalable and extendable core services used in many products.
