About the position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Division of Administrative Services (DAS) is looking to fill an Accountant 3 position. This position provides advanced professional level accounting, budgeting and financial management duties supporting the Village Safe Water and/or State Revolving Fund Programs. The work includes but is not limited to reviewing and processing budget and funding documents to comply to statutes, regulations and agency policy and procedures affecting capital programs for federal grants and cooperative agreements, tracking and monitoring funding and expenses, and conducting full financial reconciliations upon project completion. As part of the DAS team, you will also work closely with your partners on issues of budget, financial management, and procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process budget and funding documents to comply with statutes, regulations, and agency policy.
  • Track and monitor funding and expenses.
  • Conduct full financial reconciliations upon project completion.
  • Provide accounting support and oversight for the Village Safe Water program.
  • Assist in fiscal management, economic analysis, budget development, and administration.
  • Review contracts and federal grants, and report for project managers and program stakeholders.
