Responsibilities
Assisting the manager in developing staff by mentoring and supporting staff members with their projects.
Providing constructive feedback directly to staff and to the manager with respect to performance evaluation.
Promoting teambuilding and collaboration within the unit and with other stakeholders.
Managing the workload and deadlines by following up with staff on project progress and balancing the work amongst staff.
Considering staff development needs when distributing work.
Performing management-level review of work and standing in for the manager when necessary.
Providing in-depth guidance to staff on difficult or complex projects.
Supporting initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma projects to increase efficiency and/or quality.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Proven experience leading project(s) with strong records of building great internal or external customer relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organization, research and analytic skills.
Deep knowledge of insurance coverage, particularly for the ISO Commercial Auto, Motorcycle, and/or Personal Umbrella lines of business.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and internal consistency.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of workflow procedures.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Proven experience of proactive, effective performance management and staff development.
Strong ability to work in deadline-driven situations.
Ability to multitask and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with proper direction and minimal supervision.
Excellent fact-checking and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to coordinate projects and engage meaningfully across departments.
