About the position

As a Product Manager within Sutter Health’s enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program, you will own the product lifecycle of AI solutions that drive measurable value for patients, clinicians, and operations. Partnering with data scientists, engineers, designers, and clinical or business stakeholders, you will translate ideas into intuitive, safe, and scalable products— writing clear requirements, defining the technical roadmap and guiding cross-functional teams from concept through launch and iteration. Your mandate is to collaborate with the team to identify high-impact opportunities, align technical feasibility with business goals, and rigorously track performance so every release advances Sutter’s mission of delivering smarter, more connected care. Success in this role means bringing AI innovations to life at the point of care while championing responsible-AI principles, fostering collaboration, and continually optimizing products to exceed clinical, operational, and financial targets.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product lifecycle of AI solutions.
  • Translate ideas into intuitive, safe, and scalable products.
  • Write clear requirements and define the technical roadmap.
  • Guide cross-functional teams from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities and align technical feasibility with business goals.
  • Track performance to ensure every release advances Sutter’s mission.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, designers, and stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle.
  • Facilitate ideation of new solutions/products/services.
  • Prototype workflow redesigns and service improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of product management experience.
  • Experience with creating product roadmaps and backlog management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare workflows, EHR systems, and clinical operations.
  • Ability to balance tradeoffs across user experience, data availability, and business constraints.
  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, and prioritization skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Aptitude for working independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with tools like Python, SQL, and data analysis frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in identifying and managing external partnerships.
  • Experience with Lean methodologies and human-centered design.
  • Prototyping skills for workflow redesigns and service improvements.
  • Experience with project management software and digital tools.
  • Skills with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and Keynote.
