About the position

Seeking a well-rounded Applications Lab Engineer to assist with daily operations of our wet chemistry demonstration lab. This engineer will be responsible for preparing demo equipment for customer demos, supporting R&D testing as well internal process development, and managing chemical inventory and lab consumables, coordinate purchasing and replenishment. This role requires knowledge of semiconductor processes and equipment, with strong emphasis on wet chemical handling, lab safety, and process optimization. You will be responsible for managing the lab infrastructure, maintaining demo equipment and preparing lab equipment for customer demos, wet chemistry waste management, and coordinating demos and product testing with process and equipment engineering, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment in accordance with chemical safety regulations (handling of hazardous materials including HF, H2SO4, H2O2, etc.)
  • Be responsible for proper chemical storage, labeling, and waste disposal, including cabinet organization and SOP compliance
  • Perform lab equipment calibration, maintenance, and readiness for use in demos and internal projects
  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, R&D, and engineering teams to align demo work with customer use cases and industry trends
  • Collect, analyze, and document experimental data
  • Support onsite customer visits and remote interactions
  • Coordinate usage of demo tools including acid, solvent and ozone batch spray equipment
  • Identify equipment needs, improvements, or modifications to optimize lab capability
  • Manage chemical inventory and lab consumables, coordinate purchasing and replenishment
  • Manage chemical waste removal

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience working hands on in a scientific laboratory
  • Knowledge of process utilities including DI water systems, chemical delivery and waste handling, general cleanroom operations, vacuum and exhaust systems
  • Proven experience working with hazardous chemicals, including hydrofluoric acid (HF) and strong oxidizers
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor wafer processing and wet etch/clean/strip chemistries
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting lab process equipment
  • Familiarity with lab safety standards, including OSHA, NFPA, and local EHS regulations

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
