GE Healthcare Software Engineering co-ops work on a variety of assignments with responsibilities and hands-on involvement in areas of product and test tool software development. There will be project-oriented assignments where a manager and mentor are assigned for support. These positions will work primarily with Anesthesia and Respiratory Care (ARC) products.

  • Help develop and maintain real-time and non-real-time software in C++ in support of Life Support devices (Anesthesia Systems, Vaporizers) and SW test tools.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to gain experience in the software design lifecycle - design, code, test, document.
  • Gain experience developing embedded software running on actual hardware systems and test tools to support the development and testing of these systems.
  • High self-confidence.
  • Demonstrated computer sciences/engineering skills (e.g. C++, Python, C#).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering areas.
  • Proven Leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong Initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Able to work for a minimum of 28 weeks.
  • Must be willing to relocate.
  • Must be a full time student pursuing a degree in Electrical, Computer or Computer Science Engineering.
  • 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (in a 4.0 scale).
  • Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in computer sciences/engineering or research experience in the design field.
  • Experience with embedded systems and developing/debugging for real HW targets.
  • Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering.
  • Demonstrated analytic approach to problem solving.
