About the position

Mejuri is a fine jewelry brand redefining luxury, co-founded by Noura Sakkijha, who aims to empower women in their jewelry purchases. The company has grown significantly, shipping over one million orders and expanding its retail presence globally. Mejuri has launched the Empowerment Fund to support underrepresented women and non-binary individuals. The brand is looking for an Area Manager to join its retail leadership team as it expands its stores across Canada, the US, and the UK. The Area Manager will oversee the in-store experience and business performance, leading a high-performing team and partnering with the Regional Director of Stores to drive growth and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the financial health and profitability of all stores within the area, driving revenue and exceeding targets.
  • Manage store spending and seek opportunities to minimize costs.
  • Review and monitor business and people results, creating strategic plans to achieve targets.
  • Support Store Managers in setting and achieving KPI goals, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
  • Mitigate risks within stores, identifying and resolving gaps to profitability.
  • Provide feedback to the Visual Merchandising team to ensure optimal product assortment.
  • Ensure the right people are in the right positions across stores, participating in talent sourcing and onboarding.
  • Build healthy relationships with team members and establish a positive work environment.
  • Nurture a sustainable talent pipeline by providing learning opportunities.
  • Validate compensation practices and ensure high-performing employees are retained.
  • Act as an ambassador of Mejuri’s culture and values, identifying marketing opportunities at the store level.
  • Provide day-to-day support to Store Managers to achieve objectives and maintain standards.

Requirements

  • Experience as a multi-unit or single high-volume people leader in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Understanding of local market requirements for new store openings.
  • Financial management experience with success in driving sales and managing budgets.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities with a track record of developing and motivating talent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of service excellence in a consumer environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Deep local knowledge and connections in retail.
