About the position
Wells Fargo is seeking an Asset Servicing Senior Institutional Investment Operations Specialist. The group is responsible for managing and controlling high levels of risk and liability inherent in the Asset Servicing process. We must provide outstanding service and create an environment that maintains its focus on serving our clients while constantly looking for ways to improve efficiency. The group processes all aspects of the lifecycle of Asset Servicing events, for all asset classes and across all markets. The group works with external custodians to process allocations from our custodians to our clients. Other duties include the managing of communications with Lines of Business, such as Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage, as well as Operations and Technology partners. The ideal candidate must be able to balance a workload of tasks across the department and ensure all deadlines are met. In addition, the successful candidate should have a proven track record of process improvement and ownership of specific tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for being part of a team that is the main point of contact for our CIB business.
Responsibilities
- Assist in lifecycle support for institutional trade flow
- Manage client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as, work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issues
- Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables
- Contribute to large scale planning related to process, procedures and efficiencies with internal and industry related initiatives
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
- Provide leadership to bring groups together to resolve multi-faceted complex issues
- Serve as a leader on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives
- Review and analyze complex functional and operational tasks that require in-depth evaluation
- Exercise independent judgment and resolution to guide the deliverable
- Resolve moderately complex issues
- Lead team to meet functional area projects, and process deliverables
- Leverage solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Mentor and assist analysts
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Requirements
- 4+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Nice-to-haves
- 4+ years of experience in a Financial Services firm with a focus on servicing a Prime Services business
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of loan, securities, and derivative products
- Knowledge and understanding of Broadridge application, including but are not limited to Impact, GLOSS and BPS
- Knowledge of DTCC for allocations and elections and of non-US depositories (e.g. Euroclear; Clearstream)
- Experience with a customer service mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of securities lending practices
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload to ensure all daily tasks are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with departmental procedures
- Familiar with the regulatory environment and maintaining strong controls
- Experience working with custodians, depositories, agents and brokers to ensure timely and accurate processing of events to client accounts and to appropriately manage risk
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
