About the position

This newly created role of Associate, Enterprise Payments Product Operations is an exciting opportunity to contribute and support critical business operations for the Multi-Rail Payments Network within the Enterprise Payments Center of Excellence (COE). The incumbent will be an integral contributor within a large scale, enterprise-wide program established to redesign our payment execution operating model and accelerate the development of our enterprise payment services. The successful candidate will support or own driving outcomes for critical business operations, governance activities, and effective risk management within multi-rail payment products and capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who can manage projects simultaneously, establish collaborative partnerships, understand control requirements whilst immersing themselves in the complexity of the business and its varied interactions with the wider Blue Box. The role requires close collaboration with the local and central product teams, Audit, Risk, Compliance and senior leaders across all markets.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage existing frameworks, policies, and standards to help establish a governance framework for Enterprise Payment operations and processes
  • Create and publish business and system process flows (L0-L3) for all multi-rail payment use cases and payment types globally
  • Develop audit-ready document repository to respond to typical audit questions and develop tracking and reporting on audit progress and remediation
  • Liaise and manage relationships with Audit, Risk, and other internal and external teams to support and deliver on payments-related audits and ensure proper remediation of findings
  • Assist with managing E2E issues, operational risk events (OREs), and corrective action plans (CAPs) related to payments to ensure efficient and speedy resolution in line with policy and standards
  • Use data analytics to produce reporting and analyze trends in audit findings, OREs, and other process gaps identify potential systemic risks or inadequate governance of BU activities
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and scale product management & development processes
  • Utilize payment scheme (e.g., NACHA, SEPA, UK Faster Payments, etc.) expertise to establish scheme/network compliance tracking and oversight
  • Drive product oversight by managing all product governance activities including RCSA, PRSAs, TLM, and controls testing
  • Adopt the new governance model and leverage the new Governance Tool as single source of trust for all key information on product development initiatives
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are in place for product development, partner management, issue management, and project management
  • Drive New Product Development Charter, including consistent and standard product documentation, approvals and artefacts across all the multi-rail payment products and capabilities

Requirements

  • Significant experience in audits, governance, risk management, controls, and/or payments industry expertise
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Problem solver and agile decision-maker with solid analytical skills
  • Knowledge of global payment scheme/network compliance (e.g., NACHA, RTP, wire, SEPA, CHAPS, etc.) preferred
  • Understanding of governance concepts and programs, protocol and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues and implementing process improvements
  • Proven strong project management for delivering results in complex and highly-matrixed organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Resilient team player with ability to influence across all levels and to develop relationships with leaders, peers, and control and compliance teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills allowing for clear and appropriate messaging for multiple levels/audiences
  • Effective time management skills and ability to balance priorities
  • Great sense of humor and can-do attitude will be appreciated

  • Experience or ability and will to learn data extraction, working with data queries on Amex platforms (Cornerstone, Lumi etc.)
