About the position

The Backend team develops the core of the Alta Video Management System. These are Cloud based distributed systems monitoring and managing Video Cameras, Access Control Systems and Sensors. The Backend team is responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and maintaining the entire backend ecosystem. This includes developing new features, adding capabilities and increasing capacities, along with maintaining the existing CI/CD systems and customer deployments. We are an agile team that prides ourselves in allowing great autonomy and valuing collaboration, quality and security throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, design, and maintain the backend ecosystem.
  • Develop new features and add capabilities to the system.
  • Increase capacities and maintain existing CI/CD systems.
  • Monitor and manage Video Cameras, Access Control Systems, and Sensors.

Requirements

  • Experience working as a software developer.
  • Experience in building the backend for large distributed systems.
  • Experience with a backend language such as Go, C++, Java, Rust, or Python.
  • Passion for writing high-quality code.
  • Demonstrated outstanding technical ability.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new programming languages and frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of service-oriented architectures and building cloud-based products.
  • Experience with Machine Learning, Computer Vision, AI technologies.
  • Ability to think holistically and enjoy solving complex problems.
  • Team player who thrives working autonomously and is not afraid to ask for input.
