Campus Security Assistant

About the position

The position involves monitoring and supervising campus activities to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors. The candidate will be responsible for patrolling buildings and grounds, ensuring compliance with school and district policies, and maintaining routine records and reports related to assigned activities. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Patrol, monitor, and supervise campus activities to ensure the well-being and safety of students, staff, and visitors.
• Assure compliance with school and district policies and regulations.
• Learn, interpret, explain, apply, and enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Evaluate security situations and incidents.
• Determine and take appropriate action with clearly defined guidelines.
• Observe, detect, and deter improper behavior and unlawful activities.
• Understand, carry out, and give oral and written instructions.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Represent the district in a professional manner.
• Maintain routine records and reports related to assigned activities.
• Communicate with diverse groups and individuals.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school.
• One year of responsible experience working with students in security, preferably involving contact with secondary-aged students.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
