Center of the Plate- Poultry Buyer

About the position

Join our dynamic team as a Center of the Plate Poultry Buyer, where you will play a crucial role in sourcing and procuring high-quality poultry products that meet our company's standards for excellence. In this position, you will be part of the team focused on working directly with vendors and sales daily to ensure all products are in stock at market-fair prices. Collaborating closely with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a consistent supply of products to support our operations. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Commodity Buyers oversee 25MM pounds or $100MM or more in annual purchases for the company.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate POs and products daily.
• Hit all financial targets and profit margins on all assigned categories.
• Ensure pricing on all items is market-relevant every day.
• Work with and train fellow buyers on processes and items.
• Maintain a vendor review schedule of a minimum of 2 reviews annually with all vendors.
• Create and maintain proper stock levels and inventory values.
• Strategize and execute long-term buys to exceed profit targets.
• Find and grow new vendor partnerships constantly.
• Help train replenishment and apprentice buyers daily.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years commodity level purchasing experience, preferably in proteins.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Professional conduct and ability to work as part of a team.
