About the position

As our Marketing Lead on the Commercial Lines team, you'll lead and coordinate marketing activities on new and renewal business as well as support Producer in sales activities. You'll do this by serving as a consultative point of contact for the client in relation to coverages and marketing matters, identifying and understanding client needs, demonstrating strong price negotiation skills, leading the renewal process and preparing company applications and submissions, assisting Producer with presenting coverage and renewal recommendations to clients, preparing proposals and finance agreements, mentoring and training other account team members, and building and growing relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate marketing activities on new and renewal business.
  • Support Producer in sales activities.
  • Serve as a consultative point of contact for clients regarding coverages and marketing matters.
  • Identify and understand client needs.
  • Demonstrate strong price negotiation skills.
  • Lead the renewal process and prepare company applications and submissions.
  • Assist Producer with presenting coverage and renewal recommendations to clients.
  • Prepare proposals and finance agreements.
  • Mentor and train other account team members.
  • Build and grow relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and teammates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or related experience.
  • Five years of relevant insurance industry experience.
  • Property and Casualty insurance license.
  • Considerable knowledge of markets, policies and coverage issues for all states and industries serviced.
  • Organizational skills to plan and prioritize workload, and to oversee application of workflows and procedures.
  • Leadership skills, service, and team orientation to provide direction, praise, constructive feedback, and development to employees.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive business relationships.
  • Strong persuasion skills and tact to negotiate with markets and motivate staff.
  • Discretion and problem-solving skills to analyze client information and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel overnight.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree(s).
  • Insurance industry certifications in addition to necessary license.
  • Significant prior experience leading teams and/or projects.
