About the position

Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university program or department, including the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes. The position involves planning and developing procedures for administering a large or complex department or program, managing fiscal activities, providing guidance to subordinate staff, preparing various reports and documentation, and developing and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and develops procedures for administering a large or complex department or program.
  • Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
  • Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
  • Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
  • Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
  • May administer grants and grant-related communications, scholarships and other operations.
  • Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
  • May serve as property custodian for the department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Manages website and content to ensure accuracy; manages social media content creation, deployment and engagement; writes and edits content for CRM platforms, marketing campaigns and newsletters; develops graphic designs for electronic and print media.
  • Advises prospective and enrolled students regarding online and special programs; coordinates and participates in recruitment activities, including recruitment events, open houses, information sessions and webinars.

Requirements

  • Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.
  • Formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced understanding of marketing across social media platforms, including audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience or familiarity with Google analytics, SEO optimization strategies, user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design.
  • Experience or familiarity with graphic design software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite.
