Amex Digital Labs is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and managing emerging products and platforms that can be essential to our customers’ digital lives. We strive to emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation. Focus areas include crafting industry-leading digital payment solutions, using our outstanding servicing network and lifestyle assets to build digital experiences, and defining new products and services based on emerging technologies and trends. The Labs Digital Payments team is hiring a product leader to focus on digital wallets growth and expansion. In this role you will lead a product team responsible for a portfolio of digital wallets. This product area is central to our mission to develop and grow products that make membership essential while generating revenue streams for American Express.
Responsibilities
- Formulate a comprehensive strategy for the creation and expansion of digital wallet offerings and underlying platform capabilities.
- Drive the development and execution of a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, business development, enablement, and other stakeholders.
- Cultivate the relationship with partner counterparts in support of joint product goals.
- Utilize qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques to gain deep insights into user behavior.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor product performance.
- Provide authentic and empathetic leadership to your product team, fostering a collaborative culture.
Requirements
- Experience in payments, commerce and AI, with demonstrated results driving meaningful value in customer facing experiences.
- Strong leadership skills and passionate about colleague development.
- A history of both managing scaled products and transforming ideas into go-to-market capabilities.
- Technically literate with a deep appreciation of the engineering discipline.
- Experience successfully managing and growing partner relationships.
- Energy and drive to ensure that your product is successful and has an impact.
- Clear and concise communication skills to convey product strategy and vision.
- Ability to prioritize roadmaps across multiple competing priorities and timelines.
- Clear understanding of customer research frameworks and principles.
