About the position

Global Citizen is a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty. On our platform, Global Citizens learn about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, take action on these issues, and earn rewards for their actions as part of a global community committed to lasting change. Global Citizens have taken over 34.1 million actions since 2009. Today, these actions, in combination with high-level advocacy work, have led to over $43.6 billion being distributed to our partners around the world, impacting 1.29 billion lives in the fight to end extreme poverty. Global Citizen is seeking a Director of Digital Marketing to work with the global marketing team. The position is responsible for planning and executing both acquisition and retention strategies through email, push, paid social, and paid search. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the marketing, content and product teams, and with teams across the organization, including Talent Relations, Partnerships and Distribution, Global Policy & Advocacy, and Broadcast & Events. As a Director of Digital Strategy, you will develop digital strategies and campaigns that reach both our B2C and B2B audiences which are essential to Global Citizen's long-term growth and retention goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine email marketing strategies to drive engagement, conversions, and brand growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align email efforts with broader marketing goals.
  • Own the end-to-end process for email campaigns, including conceptualization, copywriting, design, and deployment.
  • Ensure consistency in branding, tone, and messaging across all campaigns.
  • Analyze metrics to assess campaign performance and inform future improvements.
  • Implement A/B testing to optimize subject lines, design, and segmentation strategies.
  • Support data hygiene efforts, including list cleanup and segmentation refinement.
  • Stay up-to-date with marketing automation tools and enhancements.
  • Develop strategy and execute various campaigns across paid social platforms.
  • Manage budgets, analyze campaign performance, and optimize strategies for maximum ROI.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to create compelling assets and content.
  • Create and manage campaigns that leverage Google grant spending.
  • Work closely with the digital products and analytics team.
  • Monitor and analyze web analytics and campaign performance.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of digital marketing experience, with strong knowledge of email and push.
  • Experience working on global marketing campaigns with a global perspective.
  • Creative and innovative thinking.
  • Based in the NYC area with the ability to work in an office set-up at least 3 days a week.
  • Deep understanding of digital strategy development, implementation, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in digital strategy tools and software, such as analytics platforms, CRM systems, and project management tools.
  • Experience in Iterable highly preferred.
  • Strong creative and analytical skills.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and adept at prioritizing and juggling multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Strong copywriting and proofreading skills required.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
