About the position

Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Director based out of our New York office. This position offers the opportunity to lead and manage global projects, focusing on the oversight and strategic development of structured finance transactions across emerging and diverse sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monitoring of existing ratings and direct new rating assignments across various structured finance transactions.
  • Provide leadership in analyzing credit, legal, and structural elements of complex transaction structures.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality written reports, including credit committees, criteria, and market commentary.
  • Represent Fitch in communicating rating methodologies and criteria to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead major research initiatives and drive the development of new criteria within the group.
  • Cultivate and enhance relationships with key rating clients and industry leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong track record of analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of structured finance is essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive exposure to credit rating analysis or credit modeling.
  • Significant industry experience in aviation, transportation, or related fields.
  • Strong network within the financial sector.
  • Opportunities may exist to work within other Global Cross Sector asset classes, including oil and gas future flow, digital infrastructure, and other esoteric asset classes.
