About the position

The Director of Marketing Strategy will be responsible for developing and executing innovative marketing strategies that elevate LMCU's brand, drive member acquisition and retention, and enhance member experience. This leadership role will involve overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of marketing initiatives across various channels, working closely with internal teams and external partners to meet the credit union’s business goals. They'll develop an annual marketing plan for their assigned business unit and consult on the plans for others. Additionally, they will share responsibility for training, mentoring, and the continuous development of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the credit union’s business objectives and values.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and member needs.
  • Conduct regular meetings, providing ideas and suggestions on strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the creation and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, social, email, events, and traditional media.
  • Leverage the CRM platform to optimize campaign funnels in partnership with channel managers.
  • Analyze campaign performance and leverage insights to optimize strategies, adjust budgets, and ensure maximum ROI.
  • Direct the utilization of member data and analytics to segment the member base and create tailored marketing campaigns.
  • Share the responsibility of hiring, training, mentoring, and development of staff.
  • Drive brand development in new markets to help accelerate brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop content, collateral, and campaigns that accurately reflect the brand.

Requirements

  • Eight to ten years of similar or related experience in a marketing role.
  • A bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing or business.
  • Master's degree in communication or MBA, preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to create professional relationships with a significant level of trust, credibility, and diplomacy.
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and CRM (Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Proficient at problem-solving.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills - calculations, forecasts, and budgeting.
