Your adventure awaits! We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Product Compliance to support our growing business needs. The Director of Product Compliance is responsible for managing strategies on substance regulations, responsible sourcing, labeling requirements, and reporting requirements. This role will be responsible for managing third-party product compliance partners, which monitors all regulatory changes, data collection, generation of product declarations, and provides expert advisory services.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business unit leadership to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage Product Compliance Regulations: TSCA, RoHS, REACH, SCIP, PFAS, Prop 65, and any emerging regulations.
  • Manage 3rd party compliance partnership.
  • Manage Responsible Sourcing Regulations: Conflict Mineral and Human Rights.
  • Prepare and submit the Conflict Materials Report.
  • Report on chemicals and restricted substances in products.
  • Meet product certification requirements.
  • Manage documentation-essential requirements in the form of directives, regulations, and harmonized standards.
  • Determine organizational impact on operations, products, and distribution channels.
  • Initiate actions as needed with new regulations.
  • Audit compliance processes and oversee global compliance efforts.
  • Formalize reporting accessible to all Businesses.
  • Analyze and report out NITSA results as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, legal, and other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, including regulatory submissions, audit reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify and assess compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs and product compliance within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance strategies and processes.
  • Demonstrated performance in achieving objectives.
  • Possess an understanding of public affairs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly and confidently convey complex information to all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence others within the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Certification in regulatory affairs or compliance is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong tact and diplomacy; ability to work effectively with staff on all levels.
  • A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities.
  • Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
