About the position

Works closely with the EVP, and other Senior Leadership team members on articulating the key messages of the university. Is responsible for brand management as well as the leadership and oversight of the institution's strategic marketing plan. Provides leadership, management and strategic vision for the Offices of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing marketing plan development, campaign execution and media buying.
  • Marketing research and strategy development.
  • Tracks & reports campaign results; manages to budget.
  • Contribute to the team efforts in a key performance area such as writing, web editing, social media, video, and or design.
  • Works with in-house design and web communications teams to develop recruiting and marketing materials, presence on drury.edu, and event materials.
  • Oversees the team responsible for Drury's digital presence i.e. website, ads, social media, campus imagery.
  • Manages a n approximately $1M+ budget.
  • Oversees the team responsible for the creation of university publications, including the alumni magazine.
  • Curates and provides vision for University brand development.
  • Collaborates across campus to build partnerships with various constituencies to ensure communication stays on-brand and furthers the strategic priorities of the institution.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field, together with a minimum of five years' experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A thorough understanding of Drury University and its graduate and continuing studies programs.
  • Strong digital marketing and paid/earned social expertise.
  • Proven brand development and strategic marketing skills.
  • Ability to measure and track campaign results.
  • Expertise in all forms of traditional and non-traditional media, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Excellent market research, planning, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to evaluate, select, and manage outsourced vendors.
  • Ability to multi-task, to set goals, prioritize and organize tasks and workload in order to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse constituency.
  • Highly motivated by results and student concerns.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and programs associated with website design and maintenance.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively while developing and executing effective marketing and outreach plans.
  • Collaborative, collegial attitude with a 'can do' mentality.
  • Ability to prepare presentations and speak publicly to internal and external groups.
