About the position

As a Product Owner for Cisco Workspace for Government, you will play a key leadership role within a multi-functional software engineering team passionate about delivering accredited solutions to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) customers. You will bridge technical and business needs, craft product vision and strategy, and drive the delivery of groundbreaking, secure software that supports national security. Your contributions will help change how government customers access Cisco technology-and make a real difference.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and encourage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Apply business insights to prioritize lines of effort and make sound decisions aligned to strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with the Workspace for Government Portfolio Owner to align product and portfolio roadmaps, landmarks, and work you're doing.
  • Establish and manage relationships across Cisco teams and business units to enable successful product development and delivery.
  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with partners.
  • Provide direction, support, mentor, and delegation to the software engineering team.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team focuses on high-priority tasks.
  • Foster a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, mentoring and supporting the team.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical partners, translating business requirements into actionable technical tasks.
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and openness to experimentation.
  • Guide the team toward delivering an accredited application on an Army-sponsored accredited network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product ownership, project management, or a related role in software development.
  • Proficiency with Agile project management tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with DevOps practices and principles in Public Cloud environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to encourage teams, communicate effectively, and align technical requirements with business objectives.
  • Outstanding critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships, influence without authority, and facilitate collaboration.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with cloud native technologies, including but not limited to Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar Project management and collaboration tools.
  • Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or other version control tools.
  • Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), FedRAMP, IL5/IL6 accreditation, or ATO processes.
  • U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance.
