About the position

The High School Mentorship Club is an initiative designed to foster positive peer relationships, ease the transition to high school, and promote academic and social success. The program pairs upperclassmen (grades 11-12) with incoming 9th-grade students to provide guidance, encouragement, and a sense of belonging throughout the school year. Meetings will be held once a week with after-school workshops and team building activities. Program goals include improving student engagement, building leadership and communication skills, and creating a supportive school culture.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and advise students in the planning, development, and governance of the Mentorship Club.
  • Write and submit a detailed description of the club's purpose, membership criteria, and anticipated meeting schedule to the appropriate Administrator before the school year begins.
  • Outline expected accomplishments of participants and goals for the school year.
  • Plan future activities for the club, including a list of anticipated programs with corresponding dates and times.
  • Describe the benefits that participants are expected to derive from the club.

Requirements

  • Must be a faculty member at Franklin High School.
  • Experience in mentoring or working with high school students is preferred.
