About the position
Eventide Sheyenne Crossings is currently looking for a full time NOC RN Charge to work 72 hours per pay period on our Transitional Care Unit (TCU). The hours are 6:00p-6:30a various week days with an every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) rotation and a holiday rotation. The RN Charge nurse provides and assures that the highest degree of nursing care is provided and that it is consistent with the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations as well as the philosophy, policies and procedures of Eventide. Assures that this care is provided in a manner that promotes the residents’ rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality.
Responsibilities
- Assesses residents' health status and needs through physical assessments, observation and interviews on a continuing basis.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates residents' plans of care. Updates and makes appropriate changes in plans of care whenever necessary.
- Administers medications and treatments and monitors medications and treatments for effectiveness.
- Gives direct nursing care to residents whenever necessary and according to established nursing policies, procedures and standards.
- Provides accurate documentation in the residents’ records according to established resident care policies, procedures and standards.
- Provides effective leadership to subordinate staff, which may include disciplinary measures.
- Ensures that work responsibilities of subordinate staff are completed thoroughly and accurately within scheduled shifts and according to established nursing policies, procedures and standards.
- Provides information, education and support for residents and their families.
- Ensures adequate staffing levels for a scheduled shift.
- Communicates the needs of the residents to all the resident care staff of the unit.
- Interacts with physicians and other health care facilities as needed, according to the needs of the residents.
- May act as a resource person during a scheduled shift and consult different units or departments.
- Continually updates nursing skills and knowledge by attending in-services, continuing education programs and staff meetings.
- Helps to coordinate and participates in resident care conferences.
- Assists in orientation/training of new team members.
- Provides individual attention, which encourages residents’ ability to or attain the highest physical, mental, psychosocial well-being.
- Complies with rules and regulations as set forth by the ND Department of Health and the Center for Medicare/Medicaid services.
- May be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description.
Requirements
- Must have a current North Dakota RN License.
- Must be in good standing in all states in which you have ever been licensed as a nurse in the United States.
