About the position

The Data Center Availability team works with the hundreds of AWS data centers around the globe to deliver the highest quality and lowest cost physical security, availability, capacity, and scaling results for our customers. Our aim is to standardize operations globally by delivering tools, policy, processes and procedures to our internal teams. The Availability team is seeking a Full stack software engineer to design, develop, and implement software solutions for our Condition based maintenance, Asset management, Field engineering failure handling and Global Environmental Information Management Systems (EIMS). AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

Responsibilities

  • Design full stack software solutions to enable new features or improve software.
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify customer needs and convert them into goals.
  • Suggest and implement best practices for coding, design and operational excellence.
  • Mentor engineers and develop them.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 4+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • 4+ years of non-internship professional experience in object oriented programming in Java or Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
