Graphics Designer (UI/UX)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Graphic Design and User Experiences (UX), with a keen eye for aesthetics, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles. This role will involve creating visually appealing and user-friendly designs from a variety of projects for our DoD client. This position is located in Newport News, VA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design engaging graphics and layouts for digital and print media
• Collaborate with product teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality design solutions that enhance user experience.
• Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, ensuring a seamless and coherent user experience across all digital platforms.
• Conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions.
• Ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines and UX best practices across all design projects.
• Stay current with industry trends, methodologies, and best practices in graphic design and user experience.
• Review and revise designs based on feedback from stakeholders and user testing results.

Requirements

• US Citizenship and an Active DoD Secret Clearance required for the role
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, UX Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Graphics Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing design skills, creativity, and UX expertise.
• Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
• Strong understanding of UX design principles, user-centered design methodologies, and usability best practices.
• Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Knowledge of web design principles and experience with HTML/CSS.
• Certification in graphic design, UX design, or related fields.
• IAT Level II Certification, such as Security+ or Cloud+ required

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
• Experience with motion graphics and video editing software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro).
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines.
• Experience with DevSecOps principles and DoD policies related to the topic.
• Knowledge of configuration management and version control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
