About the position

As part of the eCommerce Leadership Team, the Head of Product (eCommerce) will drive the vision, roadmaps, and execution of high-value digital products for our multi-billion dollar, global eCommerce business. This role is responsible for leading our Product organization to deliver best-in-class customer experiences, drive growth of our online channels, and ensure MilliporeSigma remains at the forefront of digital commerce innovation in the life science industry. The ideal candidate thinks strategically and creatively to realize business value while also evolving, nurturing, and enabling our agile, product-oriented ways of working. This position will also be a pivotal member of the eCommerce Leadership team, shaping the organization's overall strategy, priorities, and key initiatives. Reporting to the SVP of eCommerce, the Head of Product will work cross functionally to gain alignment, build, manage, and execute our product landscape vision and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate a compelling, comprehensive, and coherent product vision aligned with company goals, market opportunities, and our eCommerce strategy and OKRs
  • Own the product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer needs, business value, technical feasibility, and platform scalability
  • Utilize customer research, competitive analysis and benchmarking, and analytics to inform product direction and identify new opportunities
  • Facilitate and develop others to lead dynamic ideation sessions that draw on cross-functional perspectives to surface, refine, and prioritize innovative product ideas that advance our eCommerce value proposition
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, operations, and sales to deliver on product goals
  • Foster collaboration and clear communication across our global eCommerce team and our key stakeholders, including our executive, steering committee
  • Gain strategic alignment, influence platform and architecture decisions with our Data, Digital, and IT organization
  • Represent the customer throughout the discovery and development processes, ensuring solutions are user-centric, data-driven and provide a consistent end-to-end customer experience
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation through launch and iteration, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery and ultimately, value realization
  • Lead Product Owners to create and prioritize user stories, epics, and requirements; manage the product backlog
  • Define, track, and report on key success metrics (OKRs) to measure product impact and inform future decisions
  • Build consensus among diverse stakeholders, including executives, product managers, commercial, supply chain, and customer support
  • Present clear and convincing product strategies, updates, and results to senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Manage trade-offs and resolve conflicts between business needs, technical constraints, and resource availability
  • Champion and educate the broader organization to continue to evolve our culture of experimentation, innovation, and continuous learning across teams
  • Build a strong, diverse team of Product Owners; invest in their growth through mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities

Requirements

  • 10+ years in Product Management roles, with at least 4 years leading product teams in a large-scale, global eCommerce environment

  • Demonstrated success managing complex product portfolios and delivering high-impact consumer-facing and B2B solutions
  • Strategic and data-driven leader with background leading Product/Agile transformations; systems thinker and problem solver, able to rapidly analyze and understand customer vision and business objectives
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, and relevant technologies to effectively collaborate with engineering teams as well as digital marketing, UX/UI principles, and the latest industry trends
  • Deep expertise in B2B and B2C eCommerce fundamentals, including online user journeys, digital merchandising, conversion optimization, omnichannel strategies, and platform scalability across global markets
  • Experience leading and working in partnership with Technology/Software Development teams in the creation and maintenance of product vision and roadmaps
  • Driving customer and value centric methodologies across the Product team to build best in class products using Agile methodologies
  • Uses data to inform choices, measures what matters, and relentlessly pursues business impact; proficiency in OKRs/estimating and measuring business value, grounded in strong analytical skills and prior responsibility for delivering multi-million dollar initiatives
  • Strong business and financial acumen; MBA preferred
