The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will play a crucial role in aligning human resources strategies with business objectives for a business unit within the facility. The HRBP will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to ensure effective recruitment processes and with the Training and Development Manager to address training needs. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills to drive HR initiatives and support the plant’s operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to develop and implement recruitment strategies.
  • Participate in the interviewing and selection process for key positions.
  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure smooth integration of new employees.
  • Develop and maintain succession planning frameworks to identify and nurture internal talent.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, addressing grievances and resolving conflicts.
  • Foster positive relationships with labor unions and participate in collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance satisfaction and retention.
  • Coordinate performance appraisal processes, including goal setting and performance evaluations.
  • Work with managers to create and monitor individual development plans.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance management best practices.
  • Partner with the Training and Development Manager to identify training needs and develop training programs.
  • Facilitate leadership development initiatives to prepare employees for advanced roles.
  • Promote continuous learning and development across the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Promote a safe working environment through training, audits, and proactive safety initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining competitive compensation structures.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs.
  • Ensure equitable and fair compensation practices.
  • Support change management efforts, including restructuring and process improvements.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with company values and goals.
  • Drive organizational development initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilize HR metrics to assess workforce trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to plant management to inform decision-making.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators to measure the impact of HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to understand business goals and align HR strategies accordingly.
  • Act as an advisor to managers on HR-related issues and best practices.
  • Drive strategic HR initiatives that support the plant’s operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with 5+ years of HR experience is required, or a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience without a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • SPHR, PHR or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships.
  • Work effectively in a Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS).
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity is the system used) experience and advanced presentation skills.
