INDUSTRIAL SUPERVISOR, PRISON INDUSTRIES (DAIRY)

About the position

This assignment may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. Prior to conversion to permanent, Post and Bid must be cleared. Please note work schedule may change. Under the direction of Prison Industries Superintendent, I (Agriculture), this position is responsible for instruction and supervising Incarcerated Workers in the operation of the Milk Processing Plant and the maintenance/operation of equipment and enforcing State, Departmental, and CALPIA rules, regulations, and requirements within a correctional institution. Responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise Incarcerated Workers in the operation of the Milk Processing Plant.
• Maintain and operate equipment related to the Milk Processing Plant.
• Enforce State, Departmental, and CALPIA rules, regulations, and requirements within a correctional institution.
• Train and mentor incarcerated individuals to gain knowledge and skills for Dairy operations.

Requirements

• Experience operating and knowledge of Milk Processing Plant/Processing Equipment and Procedures.
• Experience with production scheduling.
• Experience with Inventory Management, knowledge of bill of lading, requisition of materials and supplies.
• Logistics experience (shipping and receiving raw and finished goods).
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems.
• Prior State Service.
• Experience supervising, leading, directing, and/or giving instruction as well as training and evaluating staff performance at the level of an Industrial Supervisor or equivalent.
