About the position

As the Marketing Programs intern you will work in a structured environment under close supervision. The intern(s) will perform various fundamental administrative and outreach event duties, particularly those related to youth engagement. This part time internship requires applicants to be on site in our Everett office (2312 W. Casino Rd., Everett, WA 98204) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from approximately 8AM - 4PM. Interns will work 15-20 hours per week at a rate of $21/hr and are not eligible for remote work. Your responsibilities will support the Marketing Programs division of the Communications, Marketing, and Engagement Department. This is an ideal internship for students interested in the wide range of careers in public transit.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Marketing Programs events and activities, including supporting and attending presentations to Community Based Organizations (includes occasional evening and weekend shifts)
  • Intern project: Create alternative Youth presentation that helps teach middle-high school students transit basics.
  • Professional development: Attend meetings across departments, shadow different roles, spend time learning about all careers in public transit.
  • Copy, print, collate, and prepare outreach materials for various in-person events. Organize and mail ORCA cards.
  • Gather and return supplies and materials for Marketing Programs events and activities.
  • Assist in gathering and reviewing metrics for outreach events.
  • Content creation, which could include drafting social media posts and content, creating a mock content calendar for the agency to potentially use, internal and external presentations, short-form videos.
  • Develop summaries from outreach events, highlighting feedback received, number of people spoken to, number of ORCA cards distributed, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • General computer knowledge (including a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Effective communication knowledge, both verbally and in writing typically associated with a High School Diploma or GED
