About the position

Woodson ISD is seeking a passionate and student-centered Junior High Science Teacher to join our team of committed educators. This individual will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and promote hands-on learning in a small, supportive school environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
• Use data to assess student learning and adjust instruction to meet needs
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to promote student success
• Participate in campus and district professional development

Requirements

• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Science (Grades 4-8 or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills
• Ability to develop meaningful relationships with students and colleagues

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience teaching science at the middle school level
• Willingness to contribute to UIL or athletic programs is a plus (but not required)
