About the position

A Lead UX Researcher is a member of the Research team responsible for uncovering user needs and defining opportunities to drive impact through web and mobile applications. The position reports to Sr. Director, UX and Research. As a Lead UX Researcher, you will play a key role in helping DaVita model the way for integrated care. Our team guides the focus for mobile and web technologies, ensuring a clear understanding of where these tools can support patients, providers, and teammates, and where we can drive impact for the business. Responsibilities

  • Plans & leads research to inform and influence the design and functionality of DaVita’s current and future software products and solutions by utilizing the Design Thinking approach including initial vision and methodology development.
  • User identification and recruitment, actual facilitation of in-person interviews and hands on usability testing, synthesis and presentation of insights.
  • Works closely with user experience, user interface, product and development teams, utilizing immersive research to engage decision makers in actively listening to target users, and influence design and development decisions via derived user insights (needs, pain points), usability research data, trends, and best practices.
  • Leads the interpretation of research results, derive implications, perform analysis and gather strategic intelligence to provide insight regarding the consumer market, trends and our customer needs, pain points and behaviors.
  • Works with product managers, designers, developers and partners to prioritize DaVita’s research needs in an exciting, growth-driven environment.
  • Leads execution of research initiatives.
  • Contributes to the future state design roadmap that outlines current and future state functionality, end-to-end journey maps, and design so as to provide vision and direction beyond single projects or programs.
  • Ensure overall quality of project solutions throughout the design process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience.
  • Able to demonstrate examples of prior experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Centered Design, Social Science, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science, or related field.
  • Passion for User Centered Design, and superior creativity and adaptability.
  • Masterful at uncovering insights, and able to inspire others in acting upon them.
  • Expert in research methodology and analysis/reporting, including ethnographic research, site visits, interviews, voice of the customer, think-out-loud studies, and usability testing.
  • Expert in analyzing research for key needs, pain points, and preferences, and synthesize such qualitative and quantitative information for presentation to key stakeholders.
  • Organized, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage multiple and complex projects in a timely manner.
  • Leader of projects, teams and third-party partners when needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with Agile/SCRUM teams.
