About the position

As a Lead Engineer in Software Engineering (Boomi Development) at XPO, you will oversee a team of developers, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative environment. You will conduct thorough code reviews, provide technical direction, and collaborate with stakeholders to plan project timelines and resource allocation. Your role will also involve identifying performance optimizations, ensuring quality assurance processes are followed, and managing the deployment process. You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining integration processes using the Dell Boomi Atmosphere platform, while also ensuring compliance with security protocols and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team of developers, assigning tasks and providing guidance.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance on system architecture and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan project timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Assist developers in resolving complex technical issues.
  • Identify and implement performance optimizations for integrations and processes.
  • Ensure the team follows quality assurance processes, including testing and documentation.
  • Oversee the deployment process and coordinate with other teams for smooth production releases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration requirements.
  • Assist BSA/QA team members with requirement gathering and testing instructions in Boomi.
  • Facilitate clear communication within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation of code, integrations, and processes.
  • Provide periodic operational and project status reports to management.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain integration processes using Dell Boomi.
  • Manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and support existing integrations.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise and align development activities with business objectives.
  • Analyze integration requirements and create technical design documents.
  • Implement encryption and security protocols to protect sensitive information.
  • Perform unit testing and maintain development artifacts for audit compliance.
  • Contribute to long-term vision by implementing methodologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • 4 years' relevant software development experience, including creating business applications with relational and non-relational database systems.
  • 4 years of demonstrated experience in a technical lead role.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT software development methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors: data model, SFAPI/ODATA API and Integration Center.
  • Strong understanding of various protocols/methods of communication (XML, XML Schemas, WSDL, SOAP, REST, JSON, Groovy, FTP, SFTP, PGP, JDBC/SQL/RDBMS, JMS, Mail, HTTP/HTTPS).
  • Knowledge in infrastructure-based landscapes for distributed architecture.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with implementing integrations for Global HR, Payroll and Time & Attendance (UKG) initiatives.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience with other middleware tools & technologies.

  • Automation development experience.
  • Professional Dell Boomi Developer or Architect certification.
