Lead Software Engineer

About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in the Consumer Lending Technology (CLT) Credit Services group. This group executes the Wells Fargo Technology strategy and offers a strategic technology perspective to the lines of business (LOBs) we support, including Auto, Card, Retail & Merchant Services, Home Lending, and Personal Loans. The team provides technology solutions for Credit Bureau Services and Credit Decisioning Products and manages application portfolios through skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and satisfaction. The candidate will be engaged in architecture, design, and development of APIs and Microservice frameworks to support Consumer lending needs, building modern platforms, and implementing new tools and processes. This role offers an opportunity to produce immediate impact by leveraging strengths and past experience while learning new things.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
• Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
• Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives.
• Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions.
• Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
• Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• 5+ years of Java experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Hibernate.
• 3+ years of Angular experience.
• 3+ years of Microservices development experience.
• 3+ years of experience working with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL.
• 2+ years of A.I. experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of MongoDB experience or another NoSQL Database.
• 2+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Enterprise.
• 2+ years of Agile experience.
• 3+ years of experience building cloud-ready enterprise solutions in AWS, GCP, or PCF.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
• JavaScript programming language experience.
• Experience with In-memory databases.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

• Competitive salary range of $119,000 - $187,000.
