Maintenance Technician

About the position

The Krusteaz Company is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the Effingham team! The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set to identify and resolve causes of mechanical downtime and identify opportunities for improvement in the production process. The strongest candidates will possess electrical, mechanical and PLC aptitudes.

Responsibilities

• Supporting production by bringing equipment to base condition through a variety of Industrial Maintenance functions.
• Interpreting blueprints, fabricating metal, performing plumbing, pneumatic and millwright activities, and displaying an understanding of motors and drives.
• Collaborating with production staff to enhance the reliability of production equipment and completing repair tasks in a manner that minimizes reactive downtime.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting, operating computerized systems, maintenance software and hand-held devices, attending meetings and completing paperwork.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Follow specific maintenance procedures concerning PM's, schedules, and documentation requirements.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and represent The Krusteaz Company to outside contacts in a professional manner.
• Climb ladders and lift/push/pull using proper techniques up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Work in confined spaces and elevated heights (up to 45 feet) safely.
• Must pass mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge test.

Nice-to-haves

• Food manufacturing experience is desired and a plus.
• Exposure to PLC, SLC 500/PLC5/RS Logics/Device Net preferred.
• Exposure to AC and DC motors, VFD and VSD drive experience preferred.
• Relevant trade or technical school training preferred.
