About the position

As our Marketing Specialist on the Employee Health & Benefits team, you will support Producers, Account Executives, Account Managers, and other team members in the preparation for and execution of marketing and placement of insurance coverages with carriers on both new and renewal business. You'll do this by quoting/rating various programs for multiple insurance carriers, compare coverages, terms, and conditions of quotes, creating and transmitting submissions to carriers, preparing proposals, processing binder request, and build and grow relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Support Producers, Account Executives, Account Managers, and other team members in marketing and placement of insurance coverages.
  • Quote/rate various programs for multiple insurance carriers.
  • Compare coverages, terms, and conditions of quotes.
  • Create and transmit submissions to carriers.
  • Prepare proposals and process binder requests.
  • Build and grow relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and teammates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • Relevant insurance industry education, training, or experience.
  • 2-15 insurance license desired.
  • Basic insurance knowledge with a strong desire to learn and achieve insurance designations such as Group Benefits Associate (GBA), Group Benefits Disability Specialist (GBDS), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Voluntary Benefits Specialist (VBS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive business relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree.
  • Insurance industry certifications in addition to necessary license.
  • Significant prior insurance industry experience and knowledge of carriers and markets.
  • Experience with Requests for Proposal.
