About the position

Raleigh General Hospital is a 300 bed facility caring for nearly 13,000 patients each year with over 50,000 being treated in our emergency room. We offer a wide range of surgical services as well as specialty programs including Cardiac CTA, Digital Mammography, and Trauma Services. The position involves pulling from inventory all stock requisitions and POU orders accurately, charging all departments for stock, and filling POU units.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and maintains all inventories in the Point of Use System.
  • Picks supplies using department order sheets and emergency requests as required.
  • Maintains customer service levels by establishing and maintaining long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Stocks received products into warehouse assigned stock location.
  • Maintains all equipment utilized by Materials Management Department.
  • Keeps Beckley campus, Raleigh General stockroom and POU areas clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of overall function of the Materials Department and is cross trained to provide assistance in different functions as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Must be proficient in pulling list documenting in Smart Inventory ConReq, Req, Spis.
  • Must be able to confidently drive a 26 foot manual transmission box truck.
  • Current driver's license for driving RGH company vehicles.
  • Prior material handling/supply experience preferred.
  • Must meet the minimum requirement of Medium on the PDL (Physical Demands Level) set forth by RGH staff.
  • Bending, stooping and stretching are also required.
  • Must have basic computer skills, able to run stockroom equipment, and be customer oriented.
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuing basis, despite frequent interruptions.
  • Able to work some Saturdays and on-call duty.
