About the position

Theoria Medical is seeking a part-time Medical Director to oversee skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participate in administrative and quality initiatives. This role includes attending monthly quality assurance meetings, guiding facility staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supervising clinical staff. The physician will also serve as the attending physician, providing high-quality, patient-centered care to residents. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, utilizing electronic health record systems, and participating in various medical quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
  • Attend and participate in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings.
  • Provide guidance to facility staff and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise facility clinical staff and train them as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for day-to-day resident care.
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services by rounding on patients.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Complete provider documentation in Theoria’s proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care, RPM, and other medical quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Medical degree and valid medical license.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or similar healthcare settings.
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
