About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and resourceful individual to help design, lead and scale the operations behind new product offerings, optimize vendor operations, and execute on other special projects as directed by the General Manager of Operations. You’ll have the opportunity to significantly influence outcomes as we rapidly scale and execute with passionate operators as we continue to build out Ownwell’s mission: Building a financial center to help consumers better manage their real estate property. In this role, you will serve as a cross-functional operations partner within the Operations team, working with customer support, product management, engineering, business development, marketing, and others to drive innovation and operational excellence as we continue to rapidly scale. You’ll manage our outsourcing vendors, new product operational research and launches, and other strategically important initiatives. You will set, track, manage and continuously improve operational processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role will be a blend of managing the cross-functional project with internal employees and partner performance through influence and motivation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Identify gaps and opportunities across all operations channels to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Develop actionable plans and execute them in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Balance Efficiency, Quality, and Cost: Strategically invest in processes, vendors, and tools to optimize the performance of Ownwell Operations, ensuring maximum ROI while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Measure Performance and Impact: Develop, track, and report key metrics to evaluate team growth, performance, and impact. Set clear goals and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Lead Critical Initiatives: Develop and manage end-to-end project plans to ensure the successful and timely delivery of high-priority operational initiatives.
  • Research and Execute Critical Projects: Research new markets, opportunities, and products alongside product and marketing then execute on expansion plans. Develop and manage end-to-end project plans to ensure successful and timely delivery.
  • Enhance Processes and Scalability: Analyze internal processes and tools to identify inefficiencies, synthesize data-driven insights, and propose scalable improvements to support growth.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee vendor partnerships, including performance monitoring, expense management, and contract optimization, to maximize value and efficiency.

Requirements

  • A relevant BA/BS degree or related experience
  • 5+ years of relevant consulting or operations work experience
  • Vendor management or partner outsourcing is preferred but not required
  • Experience creating, building, and optimizing operations - particularly in a fast-paced startup or tech environment, and experience with leading partner (BPO) teams to achievements equivalent to internal teams
  • The ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally throughout an entire organization and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and expertise in balancing and articulating trade-offs at scale
  • A passion for process improvement and ensuring Ownwell’s customers have an outstanding experience
  • A desire to question and challenge the status quo
  • Proficiency with SQL and/or Python (preferred but not required)
