Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and obtain all company required data to ensure accurate, confidential processing of orders and scheduled appointments in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Answer telephones in a pleasant, helpful manner to assist caller with all needs.
  • Correctly schedules patients to ensure maximum daily capacity, according to company established guidelines.
  • Accurately transcribe written and verbal physician orders allowing for the accurate completion of exams and financial processing or patient radiologic claims.
  • Collect and update appropriate software systems with patient demographic, verified by two forms of patient identification.
  • Process all faxed, computer entry and written documentation within appropriate software systems.
  • Actively participate in responding professionally to telephone, verbal and written requests made by patients, visitors and referring physicians.
  • Provide coverage as needed (i.e., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules).
  • Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires.
  • Continuously strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.

Requirements

  • Medical terminology experience required.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Guest service oriented.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
