Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an experienced Principal Engineer Software - Embedded Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK; Palmdale, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA. Candidates will work on software supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development and test. Work in an embedded technology environment to develop software working with real time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems. We build complex aircraft systems using the latest technologies including simulation, cloud computing, DevSecOps, and cyber that can rapidly evolve to deliver enhanced capabilities for fielded systems, modernizing in partnership with our customers to meet their most complex missions. Responsibilities
- Develop software supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development and test.
- Work in an embedded technology environment to develop software working with real time operating systems for use in flight and mission critical systems.
- Architect, design, model, implement, maintain, integrate, debug, verify and qualify safety-critical embedded real-time software.
- Utilize CI/CD tools and manage software change control and change management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline or 1 year of related experience with a PhD.
- Familiar with Safety-Critical Embedded Real Time Software.
- Demonstrated Professional Experience with Agile Framework within the last 3 years.
- Demonstrated Professional Experience developing software and scripts in C, Object Oriented C++ AND/OR Python for Safety-Critical applications/Systems within the last 3 years.
- Demonstrated Professional Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools such as: Atlassian tool suite, GitHub, GitLab, AND/OR Jenkins within the last 3 years.
- Active DoD Top Secret (in-scope), with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR).

- Experience with Agile Software Development, object-oriented architectures, designs, programming, debugging, and hardware-software integration and testing.
- Experience with software network interfaces and troubleshooting networks (TCP/IP, UDP, LAN, VLAN, SNMP or others).
