About the position

We are seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer to lead our Plynk Release Management function and End to End Test Lead function at FCAT - Fidelity Center of Applied Technology. In this role, you will be responsible for the Release Management planning, support, and execution of this critical function as well as Leading the test efforts end to end cross Plynk space. In addition to strong technical competency, the position requires the ability to effectively work with a geographically diverse team, build and leverage customer and stakeholder relationships, and provide innovative thought leadership. The role demands significant collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the lifecycle of a typical project.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for consistent delivery of functional software
  • Facilitate work prioritization based on business and technology needs
  • Forecast, manage, and execute a release plan
  • Develop original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts
  • Mentorship of junior team members and encouraging a culture of continuous learning
  • Actively participate with other specialists in design reviews, code reviews, and other standard methodologies
  • Ensure designs meet performance, security, usability, and scalability requirements
  • Proven ability to improve support processes and customer experience
  • Developing innovative features for Digital Brokerage Services products that delight customers

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Release Management and/or Operational Support leadership in the financial services industry
  • Experience in software development practices and procedures
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery technologies and processes
  • Significant experience in working on large, technical program portfolios
  • Experience in Internal/External Cloud and Hybrid environments
  • Experience in incident management and problem management
  • Ability to understand the business criticality of various applications as they relate to complex business processes
  • Good knowledge in working of REST APIs, ability to read documentation and make calls to read or write data using API
  • Development of cloud-native applications on AWS or Azure
  • Familiar with logging and monitoring tools; DataDog, Splunk, etc.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred
  • AWS certifications preferred (AWS SysOps, DevOps)

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of basic investment terms and practices
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and/or Agile Project Management
  • Financial systems knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both oral and written English
  • Adept at version control tools GIT Stash, build tools like Maven
  • Ability to learn new concepts and technologies in strict timelines
  • Must be adaptable in a changing environment and be effective in many different business settings
