About the position

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. As a Product Marketing Lead, you’ll play a strategic and hands-on role in shaping how customers experience Affirm’s products. You'll help define our customer strategy, lead high-impact go-to-market initiatives, and develop compelling narratives that drive business outcomes. This role has full ownership of high-impact initiatives. Operates with minimal guidance, managing multiple stakeholders and resolves complex challenges. You will shapes product and marketing strategies through deep insights and cross-functional alignment, delivering results at a functional level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution: Own the strategy and execution end-to-end. Effectively navigating moderate-to-high levels of ambiguity, requiring minimal input. Leverage customer research, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform strategy, execution and strategic prioritization.
  • Enhance Strategic Partner Engagement: Develop messaging and materials that inform the cross functional team and set each owner up for success, including strategic reasoning for quarterly communication touchpoints and customer segmentation strategies with our partner merchants.
  • Drive Effective Comms Strategy: Build the consumer facing communication strategy that taps into rich insights to inform both product and partner execution. Test, track and optimize communication strategies to inform future executions.
  • Operate with Agility and Drive Execution: Navigate ambiguity with confidence and bring clarity to complex, cross-functional projects. Manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously, anticipate risks, and maintain momentum through thoughtful planning and execution.
  • Use Data to Inform Execution: Advocate for customer pain points and opportunities at key decision-making forums. Develop frameworks for how teams use customer data to drive actionable decisions.
  • Leverage Business and Product Acumen: Develop a nuanced understanding of the Affirm ecosystem, as well as the revenue and cost drivers that impact marketing and product performance.
  • Collaborate across Teams to Drive Alignment: Proactively identify and mitigate risks caused by shifting priorities or unclear requirements. Build strong relationships across Partner, Merchant, Product, Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, and other key teams.
  • Be a Culture Carrier: Serve as a champion of Affirm’s values and culture, consistently fostering collaboration, transparency, and innovation within the team and across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in product or partner marketing, or a similar role, ideally in a Payments or Fintech environment.
  • Proven track record of leading partnership strategy and communication alongside product launches and GTM strategy that delivers business results.
  • Sets a high standard of quality and serves as a role model for others on the team.
  • Proactively identifies areas for improvement in team deliverables, processes, or strategy and implements solutions.
  • Champions innovation by experimenting with new approaches and sharing learnings with the team.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for a wide range of audiences.
  • Highly analytical mindset—confident with data and able to extract insights that influence partnership communication and marketing strategies.
  • Confident cross functional team leader who is able to manage multiple relationships with partners, merchants and stakeholders.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and driving alignment in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
  • Experience working with in-house designers and content developers to drive flawless execution in both design and copy communication.
