We are looking for a highly motivated Product Quality Engineer II to join our team! Our Product Quality Engineer plays an important role in ensuring the company’s business success, through improving product quality. The primary objectives of this role include, but are not limited to, leading implementation and maintenance of manufacturing quality and continuous improvement programs, such as root cause/corrective action, production quality plans, incoming/final inspection and development of production quality KPIs. In this role, you will work closely with the Operations teams to drive quality initiatives throughout manufacturing for both instrument and consumable products.

Responsibilities

  • Aid our Manufacturing team in a Product Quality Engineer role, focusing on Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities and projects to reduce system and assembly rework and non-conforming material
  • Work in a fast-paced cross-functional, technologically advanced corporate environment focused on driving improvements throughout the instrument and consumables production departments
  • Manage calibrated equipment program for all areas of the company
  • Partner with engineering teams to develop and implement preventative maintenance program
  • Establish and manage quality control, where appropriate
  • Partner with appropriate teams to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Champion standard practices of quality principles throughout manufacturing
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to initiate product level failure analysis and help implement corrective action(s)
  • Partner with manufacturing to implement 5S methodology
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Biomedical/Bioengineering, Physics, Optical Engineering or closely related disciplines
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering role
  • Quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge and practical application of ISO 13485 requirements
  • Participation in development/maintenance of Device History File
  • Experience applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, SPC
  • Experience with a variety of measurement and inspection techniques
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment
  • Great work ethic and an enthusiasm for problem-solving
  • Good presentation, writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
