About the position
The Sew Seal Operator is responsible for applying ID Tags and Emblems to garments according to specific instructions regarding dwell time, placement, and stitches per inch. The role also includes cutting garments and hemming them to the required length. Accuracy in SKU and quantity as per the pick ticket is essential. The position requires compliance with company policies and procedures, including work performance, quality, and attendance. Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory in this area. The operator may also be required to perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or team leader and work overtime as necessary, with part-time employees having the option to volunteer not to exceed 29 hours. Active participation in plant-wide safety activities is expected.
Responsibilities
- Apply ID Tags and Emblems to garments as per instructions.
- Cut garments and hem to required length according to specifications.
- Ensure SKU and quantity of garments match the pick ticket.
- Comply with company policies and procedures regarding work performance, quality, and attendance.
- Participate in plant-wide safety activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or team leader.
- Work overtime as necessary.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write English and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Common sense reasoning to carry out detailed instructions.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods while operating equipment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly, 20 lbs frequently, and occasionally up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to push up to 30 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 40 lbs.
- Cross-training in other areas of the facility may be required.
