About the position

The Restaurant Equipment Installer is responsible for assisting in a variety of installation duties, including unloading and loading trucks with equipment for onsite installation, proper installation of restaurant equipment, and completion of accurate work orders. The role involves driving a van or lighter vehicle to specified job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment to take to specific job sites.
  • Install new food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems as required.
  • Diagnose and correct installation issues that may arise in various types of food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems upon installation.
  • Relocate and expand existing food service (kitchen) and refrigeration systems as required.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.
  • Carries out tasks as assigned by the Installation Manager.
  • Identifies damaged, lost, or missing materials that must be corrected for proper installation.
  • Follows all safety codes.
  • Deliver goods to customers as needed.
  • Confirm package(s) are not damaged.
  • Load merchandise into van or truck.
  • Follow traffic signs to get to destination.
  • Read and interpret maps and GPS directions.
  • Monitor traffic conditions to avoid delays.
  • Ensure address on package(s) matches up to delivery address.
  • Maintain logs of packages delivered.
  • Ensure inventory loads match shipping papers.
  • Perform daily pre-trip inspection on vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate daily log books for compliance under DOT.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1 - 2 years’ installation and driver experience required.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Must have a good driving record with valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and written reference material.
  • Ability to listen and communicate (written and verbal) effectively.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.
  • Ability to protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Must be dependable and have good attendance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Welding experience preferred but not required.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with general hours of work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
