About the position

The Baltimore County Department of Aging Community Business Liaison is responsible for identifying community partners, organizations and businesses to support agency events and publications through fundraising and sponsorships. This position involves event coordination, contract management, publication management, and maintaining relationships with sponsors and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Event Coordination to include Power of Age Expo, conferences, volunteer events and other special events for the Department of Aging.
  • Contract Management to include negotiating and managing for sponsors for the various events held by the Department of Aging.
  • Publication Management to include the annual Community Resources Guide, Power of Age Expo Program and other agency publications.
  • Identifying opportunities for financial support or sponsorships of these publications.
  • Ensure high quality ongoing communication to maintain and develop supportive relationships with potential and existing sponsors, vendors and advertisers.
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in fundraising opportunities and best practices and recommend changes in funding strategies.
  • Support programs within the agency to identify sponsors for identified events.
  • Ensure that individual donor contacts and activity are accurately recorded on database.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in gerontology, recreation, education, health, business administration, public administration, marketing, public relations, nursing specialty, accounting, or a social or behavioral science.
  • Two years' experience providing services to older adults.
  • Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education.
  • Education beyond a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years for the required experience.

  • Ability to analyze data and prepare various reports for federal, state, and county agencies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective/positive relationships with sponsors, stakeholders, vendors and staff.
