About the position
LPL Financial LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Development Test QE to actively participate in story grooming, analyze and understand user story acceptance criteria. The role involves developing and executing test plans and test cases based on user stories, ensuring proper test coverage, and reviewing user interfaces for conformity and functionality. The candidate will work closely with software engineers to understand product architecture, integrations, and features, while creating and maintaining data scenarios to support test plans and test cases. Analyzing test results and advocating for quality in every phase of the development process is crucial. The position also requires documenting and tracking bugs to closure and reporting project status to stakeholders. The candidate should be able to write complex queries for data validation and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more functional areas, acting as a technology ambassador for automation and building efficient solutions. Additionally, the role includes leading process and technology improvement efforts, KPIs/OKRs within the quality engineering team and the larger organization to enhance engineer productivity, speed, and quality.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Demonstrated experience in automating tests using internal and open source tools and infrastructure (Java and Junit / TestNG).
- Experience participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies and leading where applicable.
- Experience performing in sprint testing, service/API testing, Integration / E2E testing, regression final build certification and release day testing.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience with CI/CD and leveraging/implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Programming/developing experience with programming languages (C#, Java, JavaScript or .Net) and automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, or TestNG).
- Experience with test processes, test methodologies, test strategy, test plan and test case design and execution.
- Experience with web services testing and automation development.
- Proficiency in SQL and ability to understand/write complex SQL queries.
